Led by an Occupational Therapist (OT) and Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), children will explore the use of their AAC systems while engaging in interactive games, crafts, and movement-based play. The program supports language development, symbol recognition, and functional communication, while also targeting fine motor coordination needed to access AAC tools. Campers will practice requesting, commenting, and social interaction in a supportive, structured environment that encourages confidence, independence, and meaningful connection with peers.

We currently provide adapted virtual cooking classes for children with autism or similar diagnoses. Our classes promote language, social, fine motor, and self-care skills under the guidance of trained therapists. All adapted virtual cooking classes are currently being held in each participant’s home setting via Zoom. A responsible adult is required to be present throughout the duration of the class to provide assistance to the participant as needed.

Children entering kindergarten are encouraged to join us in a fun and interactive opportunity to learn important safety skills: traffic safety, pedestrian safety, police and fire safety, stranger awareness and more!

Children with disabilities are welcome in all sessions. Session 4 is adapted for children with disabilities and welcomes grades K-5.

YC offers adapted sports, recreation, arts, and life-skills programs for children with physical disabilities. Each child with a physical disability is paired one-on-one with a teen volunteer ages 12-18 years old. Free transportation is also provided for participants.

Participant Note: Our program is for youth with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, blind, deaf, arthrogryposis, etc.

Ages 8-13 (ages flexible) will learn all about adventure skills such as map reading, hiking basics, knot typing, shelter building, plant and animal identification, nature journaling and more, all while practicing resilience, social skills and meeting new friends!

Our camps are designed to support independence, connection, and exploration. Children should be fully toilet-trained and able to separate from a parent or caregiver for the duration of the camp day. Attendees must be able to stay with the group, participate, follow directions and interact with peers and adults without 1:1 support, as camps will not be staffed to provide individual assistance.

Back to School Boot Camp is a fun and supportive program designed to help children transition back into the school routine with confidence and ease. Perfect for early elementary-aged students entering kindergarten through 2nd grade, this group is led by pediatric occupational therapists and focuses on building the skills kids need for a successful start to the school year. Each session includes a mix of structured routines, social skill practice, fine and gross motor activities, and classroom-readiness tasks like following directions, participating in group activities, and managing transitions. With a playful, encouraging approach, Back to School Boot Camp helps children feel prepared, confident, and excited to head back to the classroom.

Empower Sports and the Cleveland Guardians are teaming up to offer inclusive softball at multiple parks across the greater Cleveland area this season! The program is open to players of all abilities, ages 6 and older. Each week will consist of softball skills, drills and scrimmaging. Players will be grouped into age and skill-appropriate teams to ensure players are in a safe environment with compatible peers. Our inclusive softball programs use a high-density foam core softball that is safe to our athletes while still having that realistic feel. Our coaches and volunteers will lead our players through skills and drills practices while we work our way up to playing games.

Beyond Camp is an award-winning summer camp for children entering grades K-9 (ages 5 to 14) with mild-to-moderate special learning and social needs.

The Adapted Horseback Riding Program offers recreation-based mounted riding lessons with an emphasis on proper riding position and reining skills. Riders ages 4 and up are taught horsemanship and riding skills in an environment that’s tailored to their specific needs, goals, and learning styles.

Come make new friends and explore popular children’s literature through the arts! Campers will shake, rattle and roll with Pete the Cat, explore colors with Brown Bear and pretend to be a dog who loves donuts.

Camp will include a rotation of art, music, dance and drama, all facilitated by a team of Art and Music Therapists. Assessment prior to camp is required for any new FAA families. There will be a maximum of 5 participants per group.

Join Speech Therapy for 90 minutes of peer socialization using AAC and AT, then jump in the pool with their parent/caregiver for more fun with Physical Therapy. Each session includes a field trip to the Children’s Museum or Botanical Gardens.

A dynamic teen group where participants practice communication, strengthen social thinking, explore teamwork strategies and navigate everyday social situations.

This program is designed to teach movement and dance through music and activities based off of traditional dance classes. The program adapts dance moves and activities for your child’s unique abilities and needs. We tailor each class to incorporate simple instructions that allow your child to express his or her own personality in a successful and stress free environment.

Note: Our program welcomes students with disabilities and mental health concerns. We can’t accept those in wheelchairs at this time. We are working on flooring and studio upgrades for those students at a later date. The interview is necessary so that we can meet and best recommend class placement with other students within that same range of disability. Our website has the link for the intake form.

Our Drawing camp offers a supportive, inclusive environment where campers can explore creativity at their own pace. We use drawing as a gentle, engaging way to encourage self-expression, emotional regulation and confidence-building. Campers are never judged on skill or outcome because process matters most. Through guided prompts, free drawing time, and optional group sharing, campers are invited to connect with their imagination, practice coping strategies and enjoy the calming, empowering experience of making art. This camp is ideal for students who benefit from a compassionate, strengths-based approach and a safe space to create, relax and be themselves.

Emotions Aquarium offers children the opportunity to explore their emotions through art experiences while strengthening communication skills and improving social skills.

Campers will play with the farm animals, hike our private trails, create with nature crafts, explore our story book trail and wander through our wildflower labyrinth and gardens! Parents are required to stay. Camp is led by a the farm owner who is also a BCBA, mother of three and avid nature lover!

A fun, play-based camp focused on building fine motor strength and coordination through engaging, hands-on activities that support handwriting and everyday skills. Children will explore crafts, games, and sensory play designed to improve grip strength, dexterity, and control, all in a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes confidence and independence.

This is a 1-hour program designed for participants with moderate biking skills to practice safe riding and build confidence biking in a group setting. Participants must be able to ride independently; one caregiver is required to attend with each participant. Participants must bring their own bike. E-bikes are not permitted. Program is designed for individuals ages 10+.

A program which utilizes the Wonderfully Me curriculum, focusing on self-concept, identifying strengths, and interacting with others while using Cognitive Behavioral Skills.

Each playgroup includes a balance of sensory play, fine and gross motor activities, early learning concepts, social skill development, and structured routines like circle time and centers. With a low student-to-teacher ratio, children receive the guidance they need to build confidence, independence, and meaningful peer connections. Our inclusive approach ensures every child feels successful, supported, and celebrated, while caregivers enjoy peace of mind knowing their child is in caring, experienced hands.

This program will be held at Independence High School Football Stadium and is open to athletes ages 6+ of ALL ability levels. Our coaches and volunteers will lead our players through skills and drills practices while we work our way up to playing games. We are able to group our players onto teams that best match their age and ability to make sure that everybody is having a great time out on the field.

Our inclusive indoor camp for kids ages 3-7 features fun weekly themes with matching activities. Each day includes Open Play in our sensory gym, hands-on sensory activities, group games, arts & crafts, story time, and snack time (snack brought from home).

The Little SPOTS of Emotion groups offer children 6-8 years old the opportunity to explore emotions in creative ways while exploring science and literacy concepts. Children will increase their understanding of their emotions and the feelings of others while practicing positive social skills with peers.

Music in Color Camp is a one-of-a-kind experience that combines music therapy with the joy of color, helping campers learn and engage through creative, hands-on activities! Dive into sensory integration activities with movement manipulatives and sensory items that promote sensory regulation while having fun in a musical ensemble. For more advanced musicians, we learn to play multiple instruments, including the piano, guitar, Boomwhackers, handbells, and tone chimes, by matching colors on the instrument and in music notation. Develop a love for music in a safe, structured environment that promotes growth, confidence and creativity!

Once Upon a Camp is designed for preschoolers, with or without a diagnosis, who are able to communicate with peers and participate in group activities independently (without close 1:1 supervision at all times).

Campers should be able to sit for a story for 5-8 minutes without assistance, scribble, color or draw with crayons, manage child-safe scissors, use glue with some assistance, and generally follow directions well.

Children will enjoy movement, music, and language activities, arts and crafts projects, and a snack.

Painting Camp offers a unique opportunity to express themselves, explore their emotions and build self-awareness all through the power of painting! Our camp creates a safe, nurturing environment where artists of all skill levels can discover their creativity and feel empowered. Campers will explore emotions through vibrant colors and brushstrokes, build self-expression while learning new art techniques and gain confidence and develop a deeper sense of self-awareness.

Led by SLPs, this group is designed for children to explore play through songs, movement, sensory activities, and simple group routines. Camp A.B.C.™, Camp Always Be Communicating, is a social developmental play skills group for children ages 3 to 6. The camp is a fusion of social development ideologies and therapeutic approaches with play-based activities, which help children develop better social relationships.

This camp is specifically designed for preschool-age children who need extra help in developing peer relationships, play skills, and social communication skills. We also welcome siblings and friends to attend our community inclusion program!

If a child needs an aide to participate in group activities and maintain their safety, then they can participate in the camp with an aide for $25/hour.

This group focuses on managing anxiety and helps develop effective strategies for managing anxiety. Participants will learn how to regulate their emotions and reduce stress using techniques that engage the five senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Two groups are available- one for teens and one for adults.

An integrated camp experience for individuals with disabilities and typical peers that creates an environment that promotes educational reinforcement, physical activity, social skills, cooperative group learning and will facilitate access, equity and inclusion.

Our Sensory Art Play Camp is all about unleashing creativity through fun, hands-on experiences that tap into all five senses! In this camp, your camper will dive into exciting, sometimes messy, art projects that engage their senses in new and playful ways. Each day we’ll focus on a different sense, encouraging imaginative exploration, expression and connection through art. Whether it’s feeling textures, smelling new scents, or creating vibrant masterpieces, this camp is the perfect space for neurodiverse and disabled campers (and their siblings) to embrace creativity in a safe, supportive environment.

This is a beginner-level kayak program that occurs on Thursday evenings and Saturdays throughout the summer. Focus on both entry-level kayaking skills and entry-level to moderate kayaking skills. Build upon problem solving and social skills with opportunities to learn more advanced paddle strokes.

Our parent/child camp features the experience of two professionals – music therapy and speech therapy. This pre-camp meets for only 45-min/day for one week providing opportunities to increase communication and socialization through musical interventions. Your camper will create ice cream flavors, decorate their ice cream stand, and market their ice cream creations to real customers!
