This inclusive and adapted class introduces music, theater, dance /movement and visual arts. Participants learn different art forms by engaging in movement to music, instrument play, creative dramatics, theater games, and other activities which incorporate singing, dancing, imagination and hands-on creativity. Students work to enhance gross motor skills and balance, develop body awareness and self expression, increase social interaction, and expand their creative abilities. Facilitated by Creative Arts Therapies Faculty. We currently provide adapted virtual cooking classes for children with autism or similar diagnoses. Our classes promote language, social, fine motor, and self-care skills under the guidance of trained therapists. All adapted virtual cooking classes are currently being held in each participant’s home setting via Zoom. A responsible adult is required to be present throughout the duration of the class to provide assistance to the participant as needed.

YC offers adapted sports, recreation, arts, and life-skills programs for children with physical disabilities. Each child with a physical disability is paired one-on-one with a teen volunteer ages 12-18 years old. Free transportation is also provided for participants.

Participant Note: Our program is for youth with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, blind, deaf, arthrogryposis, etc.

We offer tennis for children ages 5+ with physical or cognitive disabilities. Children will have fun learning tennis basics and practicing their ABCs—agility, balance, coordination, through fun on-court games.

Ages 8-13 (ages flexible) will learn all about adventure skills such as map reading, hiking basics, knot typing, shelter building, plant and animal identification, nature journaling and more, all while practicing resilience, social skills and meeting new friends!

Our camps are designed to support independence, connection, and exploration. Children should be fully toilet-trained and able to separate from a parent or caregiver for the duration of the camp day. Attendees must be able to stay with the group, participate, follow directions and interact with peers and adults without 1:1 support, as camps will not be staffed to provide individual assistance.

The program is open to players of all abilities, ages 6 and older. Each week will consist of softball skills, drills and scrimmaging. Players will be grouped into age and skill-appropriate teams to ensure players are in a safe environment with compatible peers. Our inclusive softball programs use a high-density foam core softball that is safe to our athletes while still having that realistic feel. Our coaches and volunteers will lead our players through skills and drills practices while we work our way up to playing games.

Beyond Camp is an award-winning summer camp for children entering grades K-9 (ages 5 to 14) with mild-to-moderate special learning and social needs.

The Adapted Horseback Riding Program offers recreation-based mounted riding lessons with an emphasis on proper riding position and reining skills. Riders ages 4 and up are taught horsemanship and riding skills in an environment that’s tailored to their specific needs, goals, and learning styles.

Sensational Extended School Year (ESY) Camp combines extended school year learning with camp activities in an outdoor environment. It creates an experience that allows students to continue working on their IEP goals while still enjoying their summer break as they take part in recreational activities that allow their bodies to be as active as their minds.

Sensational ESY welcomes all students who have extended school year indicated in their IEP. Registration must be completed by each student’s school district.

Campers enjoy swimming, visiting our horse barn, playing gaga ball, doing crafts, and everything else our Cheerful Day campers experience. During learning time, they will benefit from a dedicated cabin classroom set up for maximum engagement and learning success. Sensational ESY Intervention Specialists track each child’s progress toward their IEP goals and ensure students get the individualized attention they need. Sensational ESY also employs occupational therapists and speech language pathologists to round out the team and offer everything your student needs in a classroom setting.

Camp Echoing Hills is a non-profit Christian camp serving adults and children with intellectual or developmental disabilities. We are located in the rolling hills of rural Coshocton County. This camp offers a one-week recreational camp for youth with intellectual/developmental disabilities, autism, and/or physical disabilities. Siblings can attend.

Camp Happiness provides social & recreational services during the summer months to children ages 5-18 with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Cornerstone of Hope offers summer grief camps for children who have experienced the death of a loved one. Guided by Christian values, Camp Lighthouse provides a supportive and understanding environment where children ages 8-17 can learn about grief and connect with peers who have faced similar losses. Campers engage in age-appropriate grief activities led by compassionate professionals and enjoy traditional camp activities, sports, games, arts and crafts, and various other interactive experiences that foster healing and hope.

We provide a week-long residence camp for individuals aged 7-24 with disabilities. We run day group session activities, including swimming, games, woodcraft, art, yoga, dance, cooking, and nighttime activities like an annual talent show and dance.

Join us at Lorain County JVS for an exciting, hands-on program where you will explore careers in Agriculture/Sustainability, Micro-Business, Construction Services, Manufacturing and Allied Health.

A dynamic teen group where participants practice communication, strengthen social thinking, explore teamwork strategies and navigate everyday social situations.

Programs focus on providing speech and OT services in a social setting. Trained RBT’s are available to provide support with behaviors during camps and therapists are comfortable using AAC devices.

Our Drawing camp offers a supportive, inclusive environment where campers can explore creativity at their own pace. We use drawing as a gentle, engaging way to encourage self-expression, emotional regulation and confidence-building. Campers are never judged on skill or outcome because process matters most. Through guided prompts, free drawing time, and optional group sharing, campers are invited to connect with their imagination, practice coping strategies and enjoy the calming, empowering experience of making art. This camp is ideal for students who benefit from a compassionate, strengths-based approach and a safe space to create, relax and be themselves.

Envision Blind Sports Summer Sports Camp is a week-long camp for children ages 7-18, who are blind or visually impaired. This camp provides athletes the opportunity to try over 25 different sports and recreational activities, learn new skills, improve their current skill level, increase independence and make lifelong friendships.

ABA Therapy integrated with hands-on summer camp programs at Friendship Circle of Cleveland.

This is a beginner-level kayak program for families looking to learn more about kayaking. Focus on entry-level kayaking skills, safety and lake exploration. At least one caregiver must attend per family.

This is a 1-hour program designed for participants with moderate biking skills to practice safe riding and build confidence biking in a group setting. Participants must be able to ride independently; one caregiver is required to attend with each participant. Participants must bring their own bike. E-bikes are not permitted. Program is designed for individuals ages 10+.

This unique outdoor camp occurs for three weeks in June. Kids age 5-19 develop social skills in a nature-based setting in the Cleveland Metroparks beautiful North Chagrin Reservation. This camp offers children an opportunity to experience a restorative natural environment while engaging in intensive exploration, games and outdoor play with peers. Campers will participate in a daily social skills lesson, explore the metroparks, and learn about nature with our staff of speech-language pathologists, graduate students, and other talented and trained staff. Spaces are limited and campers must meet certain developmental milestones in order to be eligible for registration.

Dr. Hallowell and Rob Himburg have created a one-of-a-kind weeklong camp for families with children ages 8 to 18. Parents participate with Dr. Hallowell in highly interactive, discussion-based seminars, while children work and play with Rob in highly experiential, adventure-learning programs.

Taking place primarily at local libraries, these one-off “Sugar Plum Fairy Camps” welcome dancers of all abilities to participate in a warm-up, learn choreography, meet the Sugar Plum Fairy, and give a short performance of The Nutcracker.

Creative Living Life Steps Camp is an educational camp with a therapeutic component designed to meet the needs of children (ages 8 and up) and adults with cognitive and functional disabilities, and to provide respite for their caregivers. Nestled on 38 acres of scenic property at the Lodge and Treehouse within Creative Therapy Ranch, located at 5200 Lakes Rd., Medina, Ohio, our program offers a refreshing escape into nature.

This program is open to ages 6+ and we will have a great time learning the game of soccer through skills, drills and scrimmages while making new friends and getting some exercise this summer!

The Miracle League program provides an opportunity for individuals with cognitive and/or physical disabilities to play the great game of baseball! We have an artificial turf surface which is friendly to both wheelchairs and bouncing baseballs, and a fully accessible playground. The Miracle League makes dreams come true.

Accessibility Note: Miracle League welcomes players of all abilities with support from parents and peer buddies. Families are welcome to bring adapted equipment to support their player.

NATI Summer Camp serves students with disabilities between the ages of 3-21. Each camp classroom includes a licensed teacher and assistant with a ratio of 1:4. Activities include: art therapy, adapted physical education, themed enrichment activities, music therapy, outside play and special events. Additional services available: physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Transportation is not provided; Campers are responsible for bagged lunch/drink; Full-time nurse on staff.

Nuhop’s specialty camps are a great opportunity for campers to further work on their independence. Specialty camps take day trips away from our main campus and provide campers with an experience focused on a special interest area. 2025 programs include Lake Erie Camp, Animal Encounters, Art Camp, and more.

This group focuses on managing anxiety and helps develop effective strategies for managing anxiety. Participants will learn how to regulate their emotions and reduce stress using techniques that engage the five senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Two groups are available- one for teens and one for adults.

Our Mission: To provide an integrated camp experience for individuals with disabilities and typical peers that creates an environment that promotes educational reinforcement, physical activity, social skills, cooperative group learning and will facilitate access, equity and inclusion.

This program is sensory extraordinaire. Children will enjoy fantastic sensational adventures that are sure to challenge the mind, while simultaneously engaging all of the senses!

This is a beginner-level kayak program that occurs on Thursday evenings and Saturdays throughout the summer. Focus on both entry-level kayaking skills and entry-level to moderate kayaking skills. Build upon problem solving and social skills with opportunities to learn more advanced paddle strokes.

Social Skills 360 Camp is a very structured and goal-oriented camp, staffed with experienced staff members. It is not “just another camp” or “babysitting!” It is a social skills/electronic reduction experience.

Campers will participate in activities such as fishing, swimming, hiking, gaga, archery, paint war, sports court, goldrush, nine square, canoeing, stand-up paddle boards, slip-n-slide, kickball, water games, slime dunk tank, rock climbing, high ropes and much more. Plus social skills group every night!

Note: Campers who attend the program struggle with electronic addiction and social skills issues. Campers have a variety of diagnoses, including but not limited to autism, ADHD and anxiety.

Steps to Independence is the intensive therapy program at LeafBridge. This program is an evidence-based training model of increased frequency and duration of physical, occupational, and speech therapy to work on achieving meaningful, functional goals. Dancing Wheels’ Summer Dance Workshop—a one-week program for dancers and movers ages 13 through adult—returns. Led by Dancing Wheels Director of Education Sara Lawrence-Sucato, participants of all abilities come together for physically integrated dance technique and improvisation/composition classes. A new work will be developed and performed for the culminating in-studio performance on Friday, August 7 at 2:00 PM.

Fly fishing is a great way to get outside and try something new, or enhance your knowledge while learning from seasoned, experienced instructors.

Cleveland Metroparks is partnering with the Cleveland Anglers to bring you this all-day fishing program. Youth will learn how to cast a fly rod and tie an artificial fly they can keep, while also learning about pond and river life. The afternoon will be spent putting these skills together as you try your hand at fly fishing in the pond. Who knows what kind of fish story you’ll leave with!

No fishing license required. Fly rods and reels will be provided. Actual activities for the day are based on weather conditions. This program can be easily modified to accommodate guests with a variety of disabilities for all activities. Terrain includes paved and grass surfaces, with limited distances.

*This program may be cancelled if weather conditions do not permit the above activities to take place. Camper to staff ratios are lower to allow for more support.
