Camp-Can-Do is a unique and innovative approach to providing educational and recreational opportunities for youth with disabilities, ages 5 to 13 during the summer months. This eight-week program is geared toward educating youth on a variety of positive and socially appropriate pursuits, as well as providing a high level of supervision for fun summer activities. Throughout the summer we hope to encourage each child’s talents to grow. Camp Can-Do campers will participate in adapted recreational activities like art, music, reading, language skills, speech, socialization, swimming, field trips and special events. A $20 non-refundable deposit is due at time of registration. Due to the nature of this camp, registration is in person or over the phone.

Camp Echoing Hills is a non-profit Christian camp serving adults and children with intellectual or developmental disabilities. We are located in the rolling hills of rural Coshocton County. This camp offers a one-week recreational camp for youth with intellectual/developmental disabilities, autism, and/or physical disabilities. Siblings can attend.

The Positivity Spectrum understands that autistic children need to have year-round engagement to maintain the structure of a school day schedule and to be with their peers in order to continue working on their executive function and social and emotional skills in a safe and fun environment. We want to provide that opportunity. In conjunction with our partners, qualified applicants will receive a Positivity Spectrum-sponsored aid to accompany their child in a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio* at a local summer camp.

Camp Indigo was founded on the belief that trans and gender diverse kids deserve a ‘normal’ summer day camp experience. When so much of a child’s life is based on educating others and trying to find their place in the world, Camp Indigo is what childhood is meant to be: fun, friend-centered, and full of wonder. We have opportunities to explore art, science, play, and lots and lots of camp songs.

This is a camp primarily for trans and nonbinary kids, but ally cis siblings are always welcome as long as they are respectful.

Camp LeafBridge is an activity-based summer camp for students with significant physical and cognitive disabilities. This unique program offers high levels of support while addressing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals through Extended School Year (ESY) services. Camp activities are planned and coordinated by
specialists in the areas of special education, physical/occupational/speech therapies, and assistive technology.

We provide a week-long residence camp for individuals aged 7-24 with disabilities. We run day group session activities, including swimming, games, woodcraft, art, yoga, dance, cooking, and nighttime activities like an annual talent show and dance.

Since 1924 children with disabilities have enjoyed a weeklong get away on the Portage Lakes. Today, the program is open to all children with disabilities and their siblings. At our children’s Overnight Camps there are two counselors to every six campers. Other staff on site includes the directors, program coordinators, and nursing staff. The Akron Rotary Camp strives to meet the individual needs of each of the campers. Staff will work with families, teachers, and other support services to help provide successful experiences.

The camp targets building functional work skills through volunteer experiences coupled with community integrated experiences designed to build adult daily living skills. DREAMs Inc is designed by a seasoned intervention specialist, utilizes best practice teaching strategies and collects important data about task completion. DREAMs Inc has been utilized for Extended School Year services by 7 different area school districts. We are excited to kick off our THIRTEENTH summer season!!

Your child will collaborate with others to create grand-scale works of art from scratch! If you believe your child will enjoy art experiences embedded in child-led play, then this is the program for them!

This unique outdoor camp occurs for three weeks in June. Kids age 3-15 develop social skills in a nature-based setting in the Cleveland Metroparks beautiful North Chagrin Reservation. This camp offers children an opportunity to experience a restorative natural environment while engaging in intensive exploration, games and outdoor play with peers. Campers will participate in a daily social skills lesson, explore the metroparks, and learn about nature with our staff of speech-language pathologists, graduate students, and other talented and trained staff. Spaces are limited and campers must meet certain developmental milestones in order to be eligible for registration.

An outdoor sensory camp for 5-7 year-olds. Kids will connect with nature through hands-on exploration, outdoor activities, and creative play.

Nuhop Jr. is similar to our Exploration camp, which focuses on the exploration of the outdoors. Campers will participate in a half-day hike in nearby state parks. Swimming and canoeing are two water adventures campers will have the opportunity to engage in. Campers will experience an overnight under the stars not too far from the comforts of their cabins.

Our Traditional program is the foundation of Nuhop’s summer program. There is an emphasis on positive social-emotional experiences so campers may build skills in communication, cooperation, and independence. This week is filled with outdoor adventure on and around our gorgeous 33-acre campground. The traditional camp offers a week of adventure in which campers hike the two nearby state parks, spend time in the water (swimming, tubing, slip ‘n’ sliding, and canoeing), and so much more! Camping under the stars, cooking over a campfire, playing lots of games, arts, and crafts, and more are all part of the camp experience.

OUAC is based on a different book each week and activities incorporate story reading, crafts, gross motor activities and yoga poses. It is designed for 3-5 year-olds who can manage in a group setting.

Summer Residential Camps are for youth and adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities and health concerns. There are two weeklong camps for youth (ages 8-22), one weeklong camp for youth and young adults (ages 15-35), and four weeklong camps for adults (ages 23 & up).

An integrated camp experience for individuals with disabilities and typical peers that creates an environment that promotes educational reinforcement, physical activity, social skills, cooperative group learning and will facilitate access, equity and inclusion.

Social skills/electronic reduction camp

During our summer program, students will have access to a structured and predictable schedule, they will have access to curriculum, focus on maintaining skills and work on progress of their IEP goals. Students will work to be independent in navigation of their daily routines and focus on gaining self help skills for use across environments.

Our SumFun Day Camp for children with developmental disabilities serves ages 5-21 who qualify for services through their local county board of developmental disabilities. Our multi-week summer program provides multiple benefits to campers.

Each week, campers build confidence participating in activities including hiking, crafts, swimming, archery, horseback riding, and more! Campers also develop socialization skills as they develop friendships with their peers.

We believe that every child deserves to have the summer of a lifetime! The camp day will include daily opportunities for socialization through art, movement, sports, group games, special visitors, skill-building experiences, swimming, field trips and much more. The camps feature licensed, highly-qualified specialists and smaller group sizes.

Woodland Tinkering is all about design & collaboration in the wild. Children will work together to build their own play experiences using unique combinations of materials and the environment as their inspiration. There will be plenty of time for games, tinkering, and hours of creative, child-led play!
