This inclusive and adapted class introduces music, theater, dance /movement and visual arts. Participants learn different art forms by engaging in movement to music, instrument play, creative dramatics, theater games, and other activities which incorporate singing, dancing, imagination and hands-on creativity. Students work to enhance gross motor skills and balance, develop body awareness and self expression, increase social interaction, and expand their creative abilities. This summer, the AWC Foundation will be offering a FREE music camp for individuals with Down syndrome ages 8-12 years old.

Ashly’s Melody of Hope Music Camp provides a weeklong camp teaching kids how to play a ukelele or melody harp. On the last day of the camp the students will demonstrate all they learned with a performance for their families.

Please note that this is a partnership with the AWC Foundation and is being held at the DSANEO office. AWC staff are providing the instruction for the camp. The camp is being offered for free for 15 children with Down syndrome ages 8-12 . The individual needs of each student will be addressed in the registration form.

Creative mode activate! Come make new friends and explore the popular game worlds of Minecraft, Zelda, Mario and more through the arts! Camp will include a rotation of art, music, dance and drama, all facilitated by a team of Art and Music Therapists. Assessment prior to camp is required for any new FAA families. There will be a maximum of five participants per group.

In this group participants will experience dance, music, and art-making to increase both creativity and imagination as a catalyst in connecting with self and others. Participants will explore developmental movement patterns, songwriting, and collage creations to enhance peer relationships, collaboration, and a sense of empowerment. This program is designed with the flexibility to adjust to individual needs, so group members can access their fullest expression.

Students are welcome to bring a 1:1 aide or assistant if needed/desired. Individuals with experiences consistent with developmental disabilities, autism, ADHD, sensory processing, and/or other neurodivergent differences would benefit from this group. This group will take place on the main level of the building and will be wheelchair accessible.

Your school age children will spend their day with professional teaching artists learning the fundamentals of acting through theater, movement, dance, music, visual arts, and media-based activities.

Students will focus on a different fundamental skill of acting (concentration, cooperation, imagination, body, and voice) each day, putting all these skills together in a self-written and performed production at the end of the week!

Talespinner Children’s Theatre has the stated goal of being the most accessible theatre in Cleveland and as such more than 80% of our programming contains at least one student with a diagnosed disability.

Join us for Musical Theatre camp if your young one(s) just can’t help tapping their toes wherever they go! Each day students will focus on the fundamentals of musical theatre (acting, dancing, and singing) as well as explore a different musical.

Participants will leave camp knowing how to properly warm-up their voices and bodies, their stage directions, the 5 tools of the actor, and how to work in an ensemble! Campers will play games, practice their technique, watch performances, learn numbers, and even reinvent some of their favorite musicals.

At the end of camp, participants will perform their favorite creations/numbers from throughout the week for their friends and family!

Orange Community Education & Recreation (OCER) seeks to create and promote inclusion across all facilities, programs and classes that we offer. Our Pop Star Camp is the ultimate creative experience where kids of all abilities can sing, dance and shine to music from a variety of chart-topping pop stars! Each day, campers will explore songs inspired by different pop icons, building their vocal and dance skills in a fun, supportive and high-energy environment. From learning catchy choreography to belting out favorite choruses, this camp is all about self-expression and confidence. Perfect for singers and dancers of all experience levels, this inclusive camp creates a welcoming space where everyone can join the fun, make new friends and feel like a true pop star!

Grow your love for music where young musicians can explore a variety of instruments in a fun and interactive group setting! Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this camp will help you build a strong foundation in music fundamentals—including the music alphabet, rhythm, tempo, dynamics, and notation—while fostering creativity and teamwork. Through hands-on learning, engaging group activities, and ensemble play, campers will gain confidence and musical skills as they work toward performing songs together. No prior experience needed—just bring your curiosity, enthusiasm, and room to grow!

Our parent/child camp features the experience of two professionals – music therapy and speech therapy. This pre-camp meets for only 45-min/day for one week providing opportunities to increase communication and socialization through musical interventions. This camp is appropriate for neurodiverse campers and their siblings.
